Quetzal Bahogar by Bahogar Quetzal Bahogar by Bahogar
A prototype for his feral form. I fumbled with the idea of making him a feathered-serpent like creature, with two wings but no legs, but then put it on the back burner. Anyway, have a glimpse at his feral form!

Comments and feedback is welcome! His final design is still to be determined.

For a sketch without color, this is stunning! Muscle and anatomy quite evident and the expression on his face actually has meaning or thought behind it. The head shape is not typical and having the eyebrows be frills is brilliant! Frills are good on any creature, really, but here they are displayed in such a fashion that suits Bahogar so well it is mind-blowing. The more frills the better, in my opinion! The ones that really make the design so much more unique are the under frills on the neck and pattern of the tail frills. Truly magnificent work, bud!

This is an amazing piece!  The body structure is so well done and the design of it is splendid.  The wings really do match in with the upper body.

I especially like the details along the spine of the dragon, they have a natural, realistic flow to them.

This looks great! :D I see you said that you were looking to give this character a Quetzacoatl look. While the fins do give the character an intimidating look, the term Quetzacoatl literally means, "feathered serpent". I also see you said this is a prototype. Make sure the next time you draw this character as a Quetzacoatl serpent there are some feathers included in his design, or at least large scales that give the impression of feathers.

Hope this helps. :)

You're right, I completely forgot that part of feathered serpent's anatomy ^^;. I meant that he would have the same number of limbs as the most widespread representations of Quetzalcoatl, that is only a pair of wings. Drawing a Quetzalcoatl, though an interesting challenge in itself, wasn't my objective here.

You're absolutely right concerning feathers. However, since he is supposed to be an aquatic dragon, I find fins more fitting. I'll be more cautious with naming anatomical types next time, thank you!

Okay. If he's a water dragon, then the fins make sense. ^^

Yeah, I have to agree with the frills, they really look good on him, nice sharp look. Well done!

Haha, Alright, I'll keep some of them :D
Do you think I should/could include them in the anthro version aswell? Would it work well? (And if yes, which ones should I include?)
